A brooding electronic film score for a feature-length indie crime thriller! This was heavily influenced by the works of composer Cliff Martinez, especially the soundtracks to Drive and Only God Forgives.

A few key scenes were given extra attention to the score, like the climax during “Eve’s Dance.” Since this scene was so action-centric and had little to no dialogue or sound, the music had to carry it entirely.

My approach for the soundtrack as a whole was to create something gritty and cold. I used a lot of resonant and unsettling drones, layered on top of crunchy urban beats, to evoke a harsh and unsympathetic city at night.

The soundtrack finishes with “The Choices You Can Live With,” an emotional coda to the film that mixes these beats and drones with sorrowful and desperate chord washes.
