centuries

Centuries is my second full-length album. I like to call it a science-fiction/western post-rock odyssey.

Stylistically, this project was heavily influenced by many popular post-rock bands of the late 00s, such as Japan’s MONO and Iceland’s Sigur Rós. I loved how they built up these huge walls of noise over long periods of time. Centuries also takes a lot of influence from the soundtracks to Bastion and Red Dead Redemption for their wild-west aesthetic and mix of electronic elements.

“Tsukiru” is a sort of re-interpretation of a song on my first album, “Kakedasu.” It slowly reintroduces the same chords and melodies but “sneaking in through the backstage door” as I liked to imagine it. It’s also the only song I ever lost the project file for. The song was unfinished but I thought it was still worth including.

“Behind Your Eyes” was initially a short film score that I wrote for an experimental documentary video my friend and I shot at PAX. It was heavily influenced by the film Samsara.
